"As soon as her samurai sword-swinging Michonne character entered The Walking Dead, it was clear Danai Gurira would be an actress to watch.
Gurira has been cast as hip-hop legend Tupac “2Pac” Shakur’s mother in “All Eyez On Me”,
a biopic film named after his most renowned (and still highly in-demand, 20 years later) album.
The biopic based on Tupac Shakur’s life, titled “All Eyez On Me“, has been in development for a while now but thanks to the success of “Straight Outta Compton“, it looks like the film is well on its way to getting to the big-screen. At one point, in 2009, Afeni Shakur and Morgan Creek fought a legal battle over the project; the dispute has since been resolved, and Afeni Shakur is an executive producer on the film.

Also, Jamal Woolard, has been cast as Shakur’s friend turned rival, rapper Christopher Wallace, AKA The Notorious B.I.G. It took a long time for this film to make it to the start line.
There’s a high chance that Gurira will shine as Afeni, who not only birthed Pac but, as a former Black Panther member, was the source of much of his political spirit.
All Eyez on Me will chronicle Tupac’s rise to fame and the infamous East Coast vs West Coast rap feud. Music video/commercial directorBenny Boom is helming the movie."
